| بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | |
| In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. | |
| الْقَارِعَةُ |

| Al-Qâri’ah (the striking Hour i.e. the Day of Resurrection), | |
| مَا الْقَارِعَةُ |
02 |
| What is the striking (Hour)? | |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ |
03 |
| And what will make you know what the striking (Hour) is? | |
| يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ |
04 |
| It is a Day whereon mankind will be like moths scattered about, | |
| وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ |
05 |
| And the mountains will be like carded wool, | |
| فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ |
06 |
| Then as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be heavy, | |
| فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ |
07 |
| He will live a pleasant life (in Paradise). | |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ |
08 |
| But as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be light, | |
| فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ |
09 |
| He will have his home in Hawiyah (pit, i.e. Hell). | |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ |
10 |
| And what will make you know what it is? | |
| نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ |
11 |
| (It is) a hot blazing Fire! | |
